Piqua Ride

A riding buddy and I took the bikes over to the Piqua Bike Trail system Friday,

and it was a very interesting ride. Linear Park Trail and then the Loop.

Enjoyed the Canal and the Bridge over the Great Miami River.

Definitely worth the trip over there from Urbana.

Ride to Dayton

The Long Way Home

I would have Rode Old Blue, Ol Blue

but I decided to take the Mountain Bike when I rode from Urbana to Dayton for a visit with my sister Teresa a few months ago and I did enjoy the ride very much. Except for having a Flat Tire before I even got to Springfield, it was a Great Ride. Fortunately for me also, her house is only a few blocks from the Bike Path there, and I didn't have to ride on too many city streets!

Had a good time while I was there. Pizza and Beer was Served for All. I even met Bob and Betty.

I liked the Mad River Recreation Trail, seeing how the Mad River is a part of home for me, as it goes thru the county I live in too. That was cool, seeing it in Dayton beside the Bike Trail.

Stopped at McDonalds in Xenia and had a cheap lunch. A Couple of Double Cheeseburgers were hitting the spot just about then.

The trails were kept fairly clean, except in Springfield. Whats up with that? Broken glass everywhere and I seen where someone even burnt an old couch on the new section of the trail.

No Respect!

Other than that, the Trails are Awesome!

The Long Wait for Summer

Simon Kenton Trail in Urbana was totally covered with snow as of Christmas day, hopefully the rain will melt it away and I can get back on the Bike Path.

I miss my near daily ride to Springfield and back.

Well, It's cleared off now, and I've been riding again.

Heard there had been some Car break-ins at parking areas on the SKT, so be careful if you Park and Ride.

I was on the SKT riding one day and came across some Deer on the Trail,

got a few pictures of the Mother Deer and her Fawns.

Here's another one I took of my Wheel Shadow,

and... foot, on a very sunny day.

Here's  where I couldn't go any further one day on the SKT

because there was just too much Snow.

Too Much Snow on the Simon Kenton Trail, near County Line Road!

I thought that it would be nice to share
                         these Photos of the Trails.

Another Long Ride

This last summer I also ventured out on the State & County back roads in the County, and tried to ride everyone of them and almost did. Yep, can't wait till Summer!

One day I rode from Urbana to Rosewood, on to Quincy, then decided on Degraff, Bellefontaine, and eventually Rushsylvania. A Very Good ride.

County Road 5 in Logan County is actually part of a Cross State Bike Route and there are a lot of hills, but I didn't think they were too bad. Not like I thought that they would be.

The next week, I went back to Rushsylvania for another visit with some friends.

Had a Flat Tire on the way back, of course. And just a few miles south of Rushsylvania too.

Well, thats what I get for relying on an Old Tire and a Tube with 5 Patches on it. Had to fix the flat in an old Cemetary. Rode back by the Piatt Castles near West Liberty and that was cool. I remember going there when I was a kid.

Only had a couple of Dogs bother me, and one Old Dog that gave up chasing me as soon as he started. Kinda' had to laugh at that one.

I'm hopin' to get out on the back roads again, as soon as the weather gets nicer. And there are a few more Dedicated Bike Trails I still need to ride on yet too.
